iCapital Identity Solutions currently describes reusable identity and AML/KYC services; VerifyInvestor and InvestReady describe accredited-investor verification. They are not interchangeable services. For a US Rule 506(c) offering, confirm each provider's current accreditation scope and how its result, evidence and expiry enter the issuer's workflow.

Which accreditation workflow fits a tokenized securities offering?
Start with the offering's exemption and investor population, not a provider logo. The SEC's Rule 506(c) guidance says issuers must take reasonable steps to verify accredited-investor status. The rule is a US securities-law context; this article is a workflow comparison, not a determination that a specific token or offering qualifies.
The cohort spans two accreditation specialists and one broader identity/onboarding service. It is not a like-for-like ranking or an exhaustive market list. iCapital's current public page documents identity and AML/KYC services; its current 506(c) accreditation scope was not verified in this review. Official product pages establish what each company says it offers; they do not independently validate a customer's legal compliance or conversion rate.
Comparison table
| Buyer question | iCapital Identity Solutions | VerifyInvestor | InvestReady |
|---|---|---|---|
| Publicly documented starting point | iCapital Identity Solutions describes reusable identity and AML/KYC; current 506(c) scope not verified | VerifyInvestor describes accreditation verification and related investor checks | InvestReady describes investor accreditation workflows |
| Evidence hand-off to test | Result provenance, reuse conditions and expiry | Verification outcome and supporting evidence accessible to issuer | Investor completion and issuer review path |
| Boundary for buyer | Offering eligibility and legal review remain with issuer | Issuer must decide how verification supports its offering | Issuer must decide how verification supports its offering |
| Not verified by this review | Current 506(c) service scope or time to approval | Customer-specific time to approval | Customer-specific time to approval |
The matrix identifies documented starting points, not absent features. “Not verified” means this review did not establish the claim, not that the provider lacks the capability.
iCapital Identity Solutions: test reuse without losing context
iCapital announced its acquisition of Parallel Markets in January 2025. Its current Identity Solutions page describes reusable investor identity records and AML/KYC review. The older Parallel Markets accreditation URL now redirects to that broader page, so this review does not treat the historic accreditation description as proof of a currently contracted 506(c) service. Ask iCapital directly for the legal entity, verification method and deliverable offered today.
For a platform offering more than one product, the practical question is whether a prior verification can be used in the new offering, with what date and evidence, and who approves an exception. Reuse can reduce duplicated collection, but it cannot substitute for a current, offering-specific compliance judgment. Request the record format and test an investor whose status changes after the original verification.
VerifyInvestor: test the verification-to-issuer hand-off
VerifyInvestor describes accredited-investor verification and other investor-status services; its API materials describe an integration path. Pilot a real review sequence with synthetic data: invite, document collection, result, issuer notification, exception and renewal. Check whether the proposed contract includes exactly the evidence and qualified-purchaser or identity checks your workflow needs. Their coexistence on a marketing page is not proof that every check is bundled.
InvestReady: test completion and evidence retrieval
InvestReady describes an investor accreditation flow. Its consulting materials also discuss tokenization-related requirements. The buyer should test the applicant's path on mobile, resubmission after an incomplete file and how staff retrieve a result at subscription time. Do not infer that a verification provider is your transfer agent, broker-dealer or securities counsel.
Run the same pilot for all three
Use a synthetic accredited individual and an entity with layered beneficial ownership. Record what the investor sees, who requests documents, how a reviewer rejects or requests more, and exactly what artifact reaches the issuer. Then simulate a material change before a second offering and ask whether the platform can identify stale evidence.
| Decision | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Offering scope | Written description of supported investor types and verification method |
| Data handling | Retention, access, deletion and cross-border processing terms |
| Operational exceptions | Manual review, failed checks, appeals and support ownership |
| Result use | Date, validity conditions, downloadable evidence and audit trail |
| Integration | API/webhook behavior, retries and reconciliation identifiers |
This is narrower than our general KYC and AML provider comparison: accreditation asks whether a person or entity meets an offering's investor-status conditions, while identity and financial-crime controls answer other questions. Last checked October 15, 2026. Legal interpretation and provider suitability require direct review of the offering and contract.
FAQ
Is investor self-certification enough for a Rule 506(c) offering?
The SEC says issuers must take reasonable steps to verify accredited-investor status in a Rule 506(c) offering. The appropriate method depends on the facts and requires legal review; a checked box alone is not the workflow compared here.
Does an accreditation result also complete KYC or AML?
Not automatically. Check the contracted product and evidence for each required control; accreditation, identity, sanctions and suitability are separate decisions.
Can a verification be reused indefinitely?
No universal reuse period is established by this comparison. Ask each provider about evidence date, renewal, change events and the issuer's offering-specific obligations.
