How to Identify a Tokenized Fund and Its Contract Address
What you will do
A ticker is not a reliable identifier on its own. A tokenized fund can have multiple blockchain deployments, and a token address does not by itself establish legal rights or prove the value of underlying assets.
Before you start
The product's official name, issuer documents, the intended blockchain and a trusted explorer. This is research guidance, not investment or legal advice.
Step 1: Identify the product and legal vehicle
Use the issuer's official product page and offering documents to record the full fund or share-class name and relevant vehicle. Distinguish a feeder product from the fund it invests in.
Step 2: Check the official ownership record
Read the fund's documents to understand whether the register is maintained on-chain, off-chain or through a combined arrangement. Do not assume the token ledger is automatically the legal register.
Step 3: Find an issuer-published contract
Use a contract address explicitly identified in current issuer or official product documentation for the exact network. If no authoritative address is available, record it as unverified rather than infer it from a ticker.
Step 4: Match the network and address
Open the appropriate chain explorer and compare the complete address with the official source. Names, tickers and logos can be copied. Confirm whether the document describes a token, wrapper, vault or a different contract.
Step 5: Examine the contract carefully
Where available, review verified source code, implementation or proxy details, token decimals and administrative controls. Explorer verification is evidence about code correspondence, not an audit or guarantee that a product is safe.
Step 6: Separate supply from valuation
A contract's totalSupply is a quantity of tokens, not automatically circulating supply, fund net assets or market capitalization. Cross-chain deployments and wrappers can create double counting. Use each metric only within its documented scope and date.
Step 7: Save an evidence trail
Record the product, legal entity, chain, full address, source URL, source date, date checked and unresolved questions. Recheck the issuer's disclosures before relying on the record for a transaction or investment decision.

A second researcher can reproduce the identification from the cited issuer document and distinguish what was not independently verified.
FAQs
Does a verified contract mean the fund is verified?
No. Explorer source verification does not independently establish an asset's legal rights, holdings, valuation or safety.
Can I add supplies across chains?
Not safely without understanding native issuance, bridges, wrappers and duplicate representations.
